blog_profileBeth Markley, CFRE, has been working with nonprofit organizations for more than 20 years. Her background includes managing annual and capital campaigns, developing donor outreach strategies, developing communication and marketing plans, volunteer training and content development for small to medium-sized nonprofits.

While at Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council, she managed all fundraising and the board fundraising committee while simultaneously creating and implementing council-wide communications strategies and directing special events.

In her role as Director of Development at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Beth managed a $3.6 million capital campaign to build an outdoor amphitheater.

As an independent consultant, she has worked with more than 50 area nonprofits; managing campaigns, events, communications outreach and volunteer training.

Beth is a feature article writer and has developed content for websites and blogs, print pieces from brochures to annual reports, speeches, presentations and surveys. She currently hosts the public affairs program “Elemental Idaho” on 89.9 FM, KRBX, Radio Boise, and maintains a collection of humorous essays on a personal blog: Manic Mumbling.

She has been a regular contributor for several local publications. She has served as an adjunct professor at Boise State University for a course on nonprofit management.

Beth is active in the community. She recently completed a three year term as President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Idaho Chapter.  She is a current member of the boards for Radio Boise and the Idaho Women’s Charitable Foundation. She is a regular presenter for AFP and the Idaho Nonprofit Center, and has served on the boards of Boise Rotary, the Junior League of Boise and Boise Contemporary Theater.  Beth is a graduate of the 2000 class of Leadership Boise.
